Wendia is an internationally recognized provider of Service Management solutions for all types of industries and for every major market, with more than 15 year’s experience in providing solutions to large-scale and medium-sized service and IT organizations in Europe and USA.

Brief Wendia History
Founded in 1990, Wendia has become one of the leading providers of Service Management solutions worldwide.
Wendia is a privately owned company established by Kerstin Daun and Jørgen Østergaard, who both held senior positions in major IT companies, including SAP. Their goal has always been to create standard application solutions that can be used effectively by any service organization, and customized to their needs, users, and rapidly changing processes and demands.
In 1992, they chose an effective and modern knowledge base development platform to create the first version of POB - Point of Business - in order to achieve this. The POB system has since been frequently enhanced and reprogrammed in line with the most recent modern technologies. The earliest service management version in 1992 featured just four modules, while the system today contains more than eight modules covering all the ITIL processes, and much more.
Kerstin and Jørgen established Wendia’s headquarters in Switzerland in 1990 where they are residents. The Swedish subsidiary was founded in the same year as the opportunity arose for Wendia to distribute the selected development tool in the Nordic countries. Wendia developed different knowledge-based solutions for Volvo, Saab Scania, Folksam and Gjensidige, who were some of Wendia’s earliest customers.
POB’s launch in Denmark coincided with an upturn in the Danish market in 1993, and Wendia Denmark’s first customers included KMD, SAS, TDC, Codan, and DSB. Wendia’s Danish subsidiary was established at Skjoldenæsholm on Zealand, a unique location for an IT organization.
“We chose Skjoldenæsholm because of the beautiful surroundings, which I fell in love with,” Kerstin explains. The new development department was established in a thatched cottage in the forest, close to Skjoldenæsholm castle. By 1998, Wendia had outgrown the cottage and acquired offices in the cottage in the grounds of the old manor house, adjacent to the famous Skjoldenæsholm golf course.
The set-up and environment is customer-friendly, and Kerstin and Jørgen regularly host and entertain customers, partners and friends in “POB’en” (Wendia’s combined conference room, pub bar and dining room) in the cellar of the office.
Today Wendia has more than 200 customers worldwide with offices in many European countries, as well as in North America. Development is still primarily researched and carried out in Denmark, complemented by an additional development department in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Wendia’s strategy is to further develop, sell and implement the POB system as effectively as possible in line with Kerstin and Jørgen’s vision, to provide Wendia customers with a user friendly system that supports all their service and IT processes. Wendia’s mission is to: Make Service Management Happen with the vision to grow even further with partners and distributors worldwide.
